From the ‘seventies on, Paolo Icaro began to use plaster more and more frequently. The artist appreciated the relationship this material sets up between artistic action and chance, being very fluid in the moment it is applied, then setting rapidly, its final appearance being also determined by gravity and the artist’s gesture.
