Salvo

1973 was a crucial year for Salvo; he returned to expressing himself through painting, not however forgetting the conceptual teaching of the previous years. On the surface of some white fabric he writes his name, using the colors of the Italian flag, inverting the red and the green and substituting the classical academic portrait with his name. It is a work similar to what the artist had already created a couple of years previously by carving marble, but this time, in the year in which he painted the fundamental St. Martin and the poor man, he does it passing definitively to painting.
