Hauser & Wirth virtually hosts June

Art Fair
Alliance and collaboration continue to prevail among the various actors of art in recent months. David Zwirner demonstrated this with his Platforms, but also the Sotheby’s auction house with the Gallery Network initiative, Massimo De Carlo who shared his virtual space with five other Milanese galleries, and others.
Now it is the turn of Hauser & Wirth to perform an act of generosity. But here the novelty lies in the fact that it is a gallery that hosts an entire fair. The major. one of the most influential in the world, will host on its online platform the June Art Fair, a contemporary art fair whose first edition took place last year during Basel Art Week. Founded by galleries VI, VII in Oslo and Christian Andersen in Copenhagen as an independent project, June Art Fair is an initiative led by pioneering galleries aimed at promoting the work of emerging artists.

“This alliance was born from the desire to transcend these challenges, to collaborate and experiment with different formats and points of view, and to open a dialogue on how to be useful to the public of art in this current climate” explains the co-founder of the fair, Esperanza Rosales.

The Fair will take place online from 20 to 31 August in collation with Art Review on whose website a space dedicated to additional content will be available to support the participants.
Each gallery will present the works of a single artist and the negotiations will take place directly between the gallery and the collector.

The following galleries will participate in the virtual fair: VI, VII, (Oslo) The Breeder (Athens), Christian Andersen (Copenhagen), Croy Nielsen (Vienna), Document (Chicago), Embajada (San Juan), Empty Gallery (Hong Kong) , Green Art Gallery (Dubai), The Green Gallery (Milwaukee), Galerie Meyer Kainer (Vienna), Misako & Rosen (Tokyo), Neue Alte Brücke (Frankfurt), Stigter van Doesburg (Amsterdam), XYZ collective (Tokyo).
