The new museum dedicated to The Floating Piers by Christo

Last week the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Italian Tourism within the strategic plan “Great Projects Cultural Heritage” approved the allocation of 2 million euros by financing eleven Italian cultural sites, including the restructuring of the Cà del Dutùr in Menzino di Monte Isola in the province of Brescia. The seventeenth-century building on Lake Iseo, a private residence until the eighties, then abandoned, will soon become a cultural and exhibition center: a floor will be entirely transformed into a museum dedicated to The Floating Piers, the intervention of Land Art that Christo realized in 2016 on Lake Iseo.
For the rest, explains the mayor of Monte Isola, Fiorello Turla, on the first floor there will be a “multifunctional center able to accommodate moments of aggregation”,  while the second “will become the seat of musical and theatrical performances of our young people, exhibitions, conferences, training courses”.” It is a great satisfaction and Christo’s name will be forever linked to our country”, concludes Mayor Turla.
