The attack on Andy Warhol

On June 3, 1968, Andy Warhol was shot by three bullets from Valerie Solanas’ gun.
She was the founder and sole member of Scum (Society for Cutting up Men) and claimed to be a fervent feminist.
She used to go to the Warhol Factory, so much so that one evening in 1967, she had a meeting with the artist, in which she asked him to produce her play, Up your Ass, the story of a prostitute and a tramp.

Warhol agreed to see it but never contacted her again, this attitude caused an explosion of anger in the woman, who later claimed to feel too controlled by the artist. Following the incident, Solanas was recognized by doctors as a paranoid schizophrenic. On June 3, 1968, Andy Warhol was shot by three bullets from Valerie Solanas’ gun.
